New year, New reads!
Hello everyone & welcome back after a LONG LONG time! Firstly, a belated Merry Christmas to those who celebrate and happy holidays to everyone 🎄. I wasn’t able to make a Christmas gift guide this year because of exams so I decided to do something different. New years is right around the corner which means we’re all setting our goals and resolutions. Recently a lot of people I know are trying to get into the whole reading scenario and so I thought to compile a list of some of the books I will always recommend to not only new readers but people all around! I’ll try my best to cover as many genres as possible and include a wide range of books in this list as well :)
The Inheritance Games
Firstly for all my mystery lovers out there this is THE book for you. The Inheritance games is a trilogy;
The Inheritance Games
The Hawthorne Legacy
The Final Gambit
The books follows the story of a young girl working to make ends meet when the richest man of Texas dies leaving her all of his fortune. However to gain access to this fortune she has to complete a series of tasks all while trying to figure why this old man left her majority of his fortune instead of his own family.
Six of Crows
Six of Crows is the perfect duology for those of you who enjoy fantasy and mystery rolled into one. It consists of 2 books;
Six of crows
Crooked kingdom
The books follow the lives of Kaz Brekker and his team (Inej, Jasper, Wylan, Nina and Matthias) while they find their way around the world and uncover their past with us seeking justice to whatever and whoever wronged them or those they love(d).
The Song of Achillies
To all my romance and greek mythology lovers out there, this is the ultimate book for you. Be ready to cry and hold onto every thread of hope you can find as you follow Achilles and Patroclus on their journey weaving through battles of love, war and choices they must make.
Other Words for Home
In my mind people of all interests, all ages and all mindsets should take their time to sit down and read this book. Other words for home follows the story of Jude, a young girl who moves to the US with her mother leaving behind her father and brother in Syria. The book describes her life as she settles in America and outlines how she feels and the challenges she faces.
Other words for home is a book which opens up our minds and teaches us important things such as empathy, resilience and acceptance. It shows the challenges people from war stricken areas face and teaches us to be grateful for everything we have.
Jane Eyre
For those of you who love classics and older books/vibes, Jane Eyre is a great book for you. The book follows the story of a young girl, Jane, as she passes the many obstacles and challenges in her life. It takes us through the many stages of her life such as her time with her aunt, boarding school and her love story.
That’s it for today folks! I hope to see you again next week with another exciting blogpost.
Happy Holidays everyone! 🤍☃️
